How do I determine my hat size?
To determine your hat size you need to measure your head circumference. For this you need a tape measure and a mirror. Take the tape measure and place it against the back of your head. Then bring it forward on both sides slightly above the ears and together above the eyebrows, roughly in the middle of the forehead. Please make sure not to pull the tape too tight. In the mirror you can now read off your head circumference. We recommend rounding the value you read up to the next whole number (e.g. from 57.5 cm to 58 cm). Women should take care to comb their hair back flat while measuring.

A tip from us: if you do not have a tape measure to hand, you can alternatively use any piece of string and then measure it with a folding rule. Here, too, the measured value should be rounded up to the next whole number, because a hat that is too small causes headaches. If a hat is a little too large, the difference can be evened out with two cork strips. With every hat that allows adjustment with cork strips, we supply two cork strips directly.
With an elongated head shape the cork strips should be placed at the sides under the inner band; with a rounder head shape it is advisable to insert the cork pads at the rear end of the lining band. Two cork strips adjust the hat size by about 1 cm. Should you ever need more cork pads than the ones supplied free of charge, you can of course also purchase them at a favourable price at Mayser!
